Han Oscar (1891-1976, born in Bucharest). Romanian sculptor. He studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Bucharest, then in Dimitrie Paciurea’s studio. He was a member of the "Group of the Four", with N. Tonitza, Stefan Dimitrescu, Francisc Sirato. He took part in the Official Salons, in various exhibitions of Romanian art abroad – Venice, Anvers, Paris, Hague, Amsterdam, Barcelona. He was awarded the title of Master of Art. He sculptured effigies (Dante, Iorga, Aeschylus, Sophocles), allegories ("Victory", 1932), monuments dedicated to historical Romanian personalities ("Constantin Brancoveanu" 1936, Mihail Kogalniceanu 1937, "Mircea cel Batran" 1967). He wrote a great number of chronicles and art theory articles, also a monography dedicated to Paciurea; his writings were reunited in a volume entitled "Chisels and Brushes".
