Alexandru Ipsilanti, the son of the fanariote prince Constantin Ipsilanti, was the leader of greek secret society named "Eteria" that faught against turks for the independence of  Greece. "Eteria" and the romanian volunteers led by the  Tudor Vladimirescu organized   a riot defeated by turk and russian army.
