Archeological discoveries attested human settlements on the
Bucharest
surrounding, dating from the middle and
late Paleolithic Age along the borders of the rivers Dâmbovitza and Colentina (about
150.000 B.C.).

The Bronze Age (1800-800 b.Chr.) - Two cultures
are characteristical of the period: the Glina III and the Tei-Bucharest cultures, with
wooden inhabitances and the ceramics decorated with meandric motifs.
