Paleolithic Age (pina la 6.000 B.C.)

Archeological discoveries attested human settlements on the Bucharest surrounding, dating from the middle and late Paleolithic Age along the borders of the rivers Dāmbovitza and Colentina (about 150.000 B.C.).

Neolithic   Period (6.000-1800 i.Hr)

In the Neolithic Period (6.000-1800 b.Chr.),the human presence is attested in several points of the Bucharestan area: Dudesti, Lacul Tei, Bucurestii Noi, Giulesti, Mihai Voda a.so. Vestiges were found, belonging to the Boian and Gumelnitza cultures. .

 

Zeita din Vidra (neolitic, cultura Gumelnita)

  Among the most spectacular discoveries: the "Godes" of Vidra, an anthtropomorphic vessel decorated with aegean motifs

Epoca bronzului (1800-800 B.C.)  Two cultures are characteristical of the period: the Glina III and the Tei-Bucharest cultures, with wooden inhabitances and the ceramics decorated with meandric motifs.

The Iron Age (800-100 b.Chr.) - Vestiges of Gaeto-Dacian inhabitances were discoveried at: Herastrau (Bordei), Radu Voda, Damaroaia, Dealul Mihai Voda, Lacul Tei, Pantelimon, Popesti-Leordeni. By the end of the Iron Age, the local population had commercial relations with the Romans. Coins, cult objects and jewerly of Roman origin were found at Giulesti and Lacul Tei.
