The CLOCK Museum is unique in the museum network from our country and is one of the few from Europe. It was inaugurated in 1963, by the care of the professor Nicolae Simache.

Muzeul ceasului   The building is from the end of the 19th century, in a style with many Neo-gothic influences. The house was owned by the conservatory politician Luca Lefterescu.

The museum shows the evolution of the time measuring means, from the first "clocks" - the sun dials, burning clocks, with water or sand -, till the mechanical clocks "antiques" and the moderns ones.

There are here wonderful pieces that are not only the work of clockmakers but of the art makers also, which contributed to the attractive shapes, creating true styles. There are in the museum "Rococo", "Empire", "Biedermeier" clocks as well as ordinary clocks, pocket watches, jewels with watch, one of them being owned by great personalities.
